Level 2 Award in Food Allergy Awareness (Early Years) | E-Learning
Allergen awareness for those working with the most vulnerable food allergy group of all.
Children are disproportionately affected by food allergies. Their immune systems are still developing, reactions can be severe and rapid, and they are often unable to communicate their own dietary requirements clearly or reliably. For those working in early years settings, including nurseries, pre-schools, childminders, breakfast clubs and after-school provision, getting allergen management right is not just a legal obligation. It is a direct safeguard for the children in their care.
This Ofqual-accredited Level 2 Award in Food Allergy Awareness has been developed specifically for early years catering and childcare staff. It covers the same legislative framework as our general Level 2 Allergy Awareness course, including the Food Information Regulations 2014 and the Food Information (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2019 (Natasha’s Law, which came into force on 1 October 2021), with the content and examples contextualised throughout for early years practice and settings.
The course is accredited by Qualifi, an Ofqual-regulated UK Awarding Organisation.
