Practical Trauma Exercise

From £180.00

If you’ve been on a first aid course with us, you may have heard us talking about “The 72 hour curse”. The number of people who report that they’ve had to deal with incidents very shortly after completing, or even starting a first aid course, never ceases to amaze us. Examples include:

  • Saving a choking baby 25 minutes after leaving day 1 of a 2-day first aid course.
  • Recognising a cardiac arrest and providing CPR to a car crash victim, the morning after their course.
  • Dealing with a motorcyclist who had de-gloved their thigh in a crash, the day after their course.
  • Being the first person on scene at a stabbing, 3 days after their course.
  • Dealing with a casualty who had severely broken and dislocated their ankle, the week after their course.

With live actors, realistic scenarios, distractions and more, the Practical Trauma Exercise will test your first aid skills in a safe environment. It will help you build resilience and hone your skills, while our instructors are on hand to answer questions and improve your techniques.

The Practical Trauma Exercise is run twice per year at our training centre in Knutsford. For larger clients, we offer the option to run the course at your venue by agreement, making changes to scenarios to match your requirements.

The information in this course is based on the latest Position & Consensus Statements from bodies such as the Faculty of Pre-hospital Care, The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
