Understanding Your Role in Care | E-Learning
Choosing social care as a career means choosing to make a real difference to people’s lives. This course helps you understand what that means in practice.
Social care is the provision of personal care, protection, social support and social work services to children or adults who are in need, at risk, or have needs arising from illness, disability, old age or poverty. It is one of the largest employment sectors in the UK, and one of the most personally demanding.
People who work in social care do so because they want to support others to live well and with dignity. But good intentions are not sufficient without clear understanding of what the role involves, what standards are expected, how care workers fit into the broader system of health and social care, and what responsibilities come with the role.
This CPD-approved online course provides that foundation. It is designed for those who are new to a career in care, or who are considering it, and provides a clear, honest picture of what social care is and what working within it requires.
