CPR/AED and Medical Emergencies for Dental Professionals | E-Learning
The GDC recommends at least two hours of verifiable CPD in medical emergencies every year. This course delivers exactly that.
The General Dental Council (GDC) recommends that all dentists and dental care professionals complete at least two hours of verifiable continuing professional development in dealing with medical emergencies each year. In addition, the GDC’s CPD guidance recommends that at least 10 hours of CPD across three core areas is completed in each five-year CPD cycle. Medical emergencies and CPR form one of those core areas.
A dental practice is a clinical environment where patients may already be anxious, where procedures involve the airway, and where the combination of stress, positioning and sedation creates a higher-than-average risk of medical emergency. Every member of the dental team, clinical and non-clinical, needs to know what to do in those situations.
This 2-hour online course is CPD accredited and provides 2 verifiable GDC CPD hours. It covers CPR and AED use alongside the management of common medical emergencies in a dental setting, delivered in a format that fits around clinical schedules.
