Forest School First Aid: Blended Learning
The same exceptional depth of training, with one day less out of your setting.
Our 3-day Forest School First Aid course is the most comprehensive first aid qualification we offer. It covers paediatric, outdoor and emergency first aid in a single course exceeding 20 guided learning hours. This blended learning version delivers exactly the same content, to exactly the same assessment standard, across 6 to 8 hours of online pre-learning followed by 2 days face to face.
For forest school leaders managing staffing rotas around sessions, the saved day matters. The qualification itself does not change. You will be assessed just as thoroughly, on the same practical skills, with the same certificate options.
To answer the question most people ask first: yes, this course covers the full syllabus of the 12-hour Paediatric First Aid course, and yes, it is accepted by both Ofsted and ISI.
How the Course Works
Online pre-learning (6 to 8 hours, self-paced)
This covers the underpinning theory across all subject areas: legislation, anatomy and physiology, condition recognition, and outdoor-specific considerations. You complete this at your own pace before attending.
Face-to-face days (2 days, 9am to 5pm)
These cover all practical skills, scenario-based learning and assessment. This includes modified CPR for drowning, avalanche and lightning strike scenarios, catastrophic bleeding, anaphylaxis, Lyme disease, and the full range of paediatric and adult casualty management as covered in the 3-day course.
What You Will Learn
The syllabus is identical to our 3-day face-to-face course. It covers the complete range of paediatric, outdoor and workplace first aid subjects, including modifications to CPR for drowning, avalanche or lightning strike, catastrophic bleeding management, anaphylactic and hypovolaemic shock, Lyme disease, meningitis, and primary and secondary surveys for infant, child and adult casualties.
