Presentation Skills | E-Learning
Preparation is necessary for a good presentation, but it is not sufficient. This course covers both.
Giving a presentation is, for many people, one of the most stressful parts of their professional life. The fear of being judged, of forgetting what to say, of losing the audience’s interest, or simply of not being good enough, is real and common. What most people are not told is that the majority of presentation failures are not caused by nerves or lack of confidence. They are caused by specific, avoidable mistakes in preparation, structure and delivery.
This CPD-approved online course identifies those common mistakes and provides the practical knowledge to avoid them. It covers what a well-prepared presentation looks like from the planning stage through to the moment after the last slide, including how to understand and connect with your audience, how to use visual aids effectively rather than as a crutch, and how to handle the moments that feel most uncertain.
What You Will Learn
- The common mistakes people make when preparing for a presentation, and how to avoid them
- How to define the purpose of a presentation before writing a single slide or note

- Structure: how to build a presentation that takes an audience from where they are to where you want them to be
- Content: what to include, what to leave out, and why less is usually more
- Visual aids: how to use slides, diagrams and other materials to support your message rather than replace it
- Delivery: managing nerves, maintaining pace, using silence effectively, and making eye contact work for you rather than against you
