Equality, Diversity and Discrimination — E-Learning
Compliance with the Equality Act begins with understanding what it actually requires.
The Equality Act 2010 consolidates decades of anti-discrimination legislation into a single, coherent framework protecting nine characteristic groups: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
Every employer in England, Scotland and Wales has legal duties under this Act, both to their employees and job applicants, and to customers and service users. Every employee carries individual responsibility not to discriminate against, harass or victimise colleagues or customers. The Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 has added a new proactive duty to prevent harassment, raising the bar for what demonstrable compliance looks like.
This online course gives every member of your team, from new starters to long-serving managers, the foundational knowledge they need to understand the Act, recognise discriminatory behaviour, and contribute to a workplace where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
