First Aid at Work — Requalification Course
Do not let your first aiders lapse. Here is how to stay compliant.
A First Aid at Work certificate that has expired is not valid. Under HSE guidance, a first aider whose certificate lapses, even by a single day, is no longer considered competent to act as a workplace first aider. The legal responsibility sits with the employer to ensure requalification happens before expiry, not after.
This 2-day requalification course covers the same syllabus as the full 3-day FAW course, compressed into an intensive 2-day format. It is available to delegates whose current FAW certificate will expire within 30 days of the last day of the course. If a delegate’s certificate has already expired by more than 30 days at the time of training, they must complete the full 3-day First Aid at Work course instead.
All content is updated to reflect UK Resuscitation Council guidelines and current HSE guidance.
What You Will Cover
The requalification course revisits the complete FAW syllabus, with particular emphasis on the areas where skills most commonly fade: CPR quality, tourniquet application, managing the unresponsive casualty, and recognising time-critical medical emergencies. Where clinical guidance has changed since your last qualification, we cover the updated standard throughout the course.
