Prevent Duty Training | E-Learning
The duty to prevent radicalisation is a legal obligation for those working in education and specified public sector roles.
The Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 placed a statutory Prevent Duty on a wide range of organisations, including schools, colleges, universities, local authorities, police, healthcare bodies and prisons, to have “due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.” For those working in education, this duty is among the most directly relevant safeguarding responsibilities they carry.
Meeting the Prevent Duty requires more than having a policy. It requires staff who understand what radicalisation looks like in practice, who know how to respond to concerns, and who are familiar with the referral process to Channel, the government’s early intervention programme.
This CPD-approved online course provides that foundation. It is designed for those working in education and other specified sectors who need to understand their Prevent Duty obligations and how to discharge them confidently and appropriately.
