Level 2 Award in Preventing Violence in the Workplace
Preventing Violence in the Workplace. Workplace violence has become a serious issue for employers throughout the U.K. Recently, the Court of Appeal has affirmed that where an employee inflicts violence on another employee or third party, the vicarious liability of the employer for the employee’s violent act will depend on the closeness of the violent act to the employee’s employment. Equally, the Health and Safety at Work Etc Act 1974 states that “It shall be the duty of every employer to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all his employees.”
