This qualification is aimed those looking to undertake the role of a first aider in the workplace on Forestry Commission land. It goes beyond the level of teaching in a normal First Aid at Work course, covering the specific additional elements required by the Forestry Commission in their first aid policy, with regards to their "Core operations" of "harvesting, civil engineering, mechanised ground preparation, planting, fencing, pesticides application, forest nursery activities, or similar."

Following successful completion of the course and assessments, the learner will receive the following Ofqual regulated course certificate which is valid for 3 years:
The course syllabus includes:
Certificate: Valid for 3 years. A4 sized paper certificate & credit card sized plastic certificates are issued.
Course duration: 20 guided learning hours with a further 4 hours self-study.
Test: Practical assessments throughout the course & multiple-choice test at the end.
Geographical coverage: This qualification is available to candidates across the UK. The Qualification can be delivered in other countries; however, candidates should be aware that the protocols meet current UK guidelines.
